The Iconic Puzzle Game Couldn't Win at This Gaming Ceremony — A New Category Might Solve This

Whenever a prominent prize-giving event draws close, one notices a demand for the addition fresh award types to acknowledge unsung work and satisfy the spirits of fans dedicated to specific genres.

My colleague made the case for a horror game category. That would be fantastic. So would board games, which is a dedicated supporter's campaign. Yet I need to apologize in advance when I prioritize because like all blinkered fanatics, I possess a compelling case for why my demand remains most pressing and important of all. The demand is this: It's essential to create a classification for brain-teasing titles.

Organizing Gaming Categories

Organizing artistic expressions defies precise measurement; it remains highly personal, and typically generate discussions concluding with vague boundaries. It's understandable that movie academies don’t do it. Yet it remains an unavoidable compromise in the world of interactive entertainment, showing incredible range they hardly constitute a single creative category.

For the full spectrum of achievement in video games to receive acknowledgment, while allowing diverse titles to receive proper recognition, specific award classifications remain vital.

Current Gaming Award Categories

The major gaming awards offer these genre categories for Action, Action/Adventure, Role-Playing, Combat games, Simulation and strategy titles, plus athletic and racing experiences. Collectively, these six categories successfully include many game types, allowing placement for most games within them.

Different situation exists for puzzle games. There’s simply nowhere for their placement. Think about these this year’s best games, each quite distinct: the architectural riddles from a specific release, fast-paced pattern recognition from another release, and the sweetly sociological logic puzzles from additional release. What category would fit them among existing types? Nowhere, that’s where.

Recognition Challenges

Many instances occur excellent brain-teasers released every year that have no home in entertainment awards, if they accidentally match classification types such as Handheld titles, Virtual reality experiences, or the extremely competitive independent game categories.

  • One classic puzzle game wasn’t nominated for anything that year
  • A different innovative game was excluded in 2019
  • A beloved organization game was overlooked that year
  • Limited numbers of logic titles scraped into small studio or handheld classifications

Importance of Logic Titles

These are often small games, but the art behind logic titles is of massive significance. Iconic mobile puzzle games stand as the most-played games worldwide continuing this trend for many years.

The famous puzzle experience competes with well-known building titles claiming status as best-selling game of all time; it’s also in the running for best game of all time. Brain-teasers form essential building blocks to the art of video games, while interacting with diverse game types.

The Solution and Justification

Logic titles wouldn't face such difficulty. One could readily select a field of five with fascinating, diverse, deserving games every year with ease — perhaps, with difficulty, since numerous excellent so many good games out.

Restating the point, these represent titles lacking appropriate categories in important events. Logic title developers function at the demanding boundary interactive creation, creating some of the purest expressions within interactive entertainment. Just like cinema stunt performers, they warrant appreciation. Let’s not keep them waiting 35 years.
